Tailored Bionic Solutions for Complex Orthopaedic Challenges
From first-stage interventions to second-stage reconstructions, our bionic solutions are purpose-built to support you in managing bone loss, limb salvage, instability, and deformity correction — with confidence and precision.
Complexity Deserves Clarity and Confidence.
Revision surgeries and limb salvage procedures demand more than off-the-shelf solutions. From unpredictable bone loss to unstable joints, you need tools that match the intricacy of the case.
That’s where Bionics comes in.
Our patient-specific, customisable implants and solutions are designed for cases where standard approaches fall short — empowering surgeons to restore function, mobility, and life quality.
Our Solutions.
-
Patient-Specific Design
Off-the-shelf implants often fall short when addressing significant bone loss, anatomical deformities, or rare pathologies. Our bionic solutions are custom-designed using high-resolution patient imaging data, ensuring a precise anatomical match and greater surgical confidence. The tailored geometry supports complex or irregular defects while optimising load distribution for improved osseointegration, reducing the need for intraoperative modifications and enhancing surgical efficiency.
-
Full Support from Planning to Theatre
We partner with you through every stage of the surgical journey. From initial case reviews and collaborative planning sessions to preoperative guidance and in-theatre assistance, our team ensures you're fully supported. You’ll receive detailed surgical plans, visual roadmaps, and implant-specific guidance to help you move from planning to execution with clarity and confidence.
-
Proven in Complex Cases
Our bionic solutions are built for the most demanding orthopaedic scenarios. Whether managing limb salvage following oncology or trauma, addressing massive bone loss, or tackling multi-stage revisions, we deliver technology and insight that have been trusted in high-stakes surgical environments. These solutions are designed to help you reconstruct and restore when standard approaches are not enough.
-
Minimised Risk, Maximised Stability
Stability, durability, and biological compatibility are at the core of every bionic design. We engineer each solution to promote long-term performance, reduce surgical time, and minimise intraoperative complications. With enhanced fixation techniques tailored to bone quality and porous surfaces that support bone ingrowth, our implants are built to deliver lasting outcomes for your patients.
Reconstructive Systems.
-
Knee Endoprosthetics
Reconnaissance specialises in the management of complex knee arthroplasty. We work with a comprehensive knee system that provides surgeons with practical, stepwise solutions to restore the joint line, reconstruct bone defects, independently manage the level of constraint, and personalise component positioning for each individual case.
-
Pelvis & Hip Endoprosthetics
Reconnaissance provides modular prostheses with options for proximally loaded or distally fixed configurations, including proximal and total femoral replacements for end-stage salvage cases. The system allows for diaphyseal or metaphyseal fixation before finalising length, offset, and rotation, with version control in 5-degree increments. Implants feature silver coating to help resist bacterial activity and reduce infection risk, and 3D planning and custom printing are available to support personalised solutions.
-
Arthrodesis
Reconnaissance provides implants designed to preserve as much native bone as possible while offering practical surgical solutions for alignment and fixation. Version can be finely adjusted in 5-degree increments after fixation is achieved. For arthrodesis, the metaphyseal loading design allows for minimal resection starting at 25mm, with modular cone options available. The diaphyseal collared design begins at a resection length of 145mm, supporting a broad range of clinical requirements.
-
Extremities
Reconnaissance offers a dedicated modular system for upper extremity reconstruction, enabling proximal, distal, or total humeral replacement. Humeral caps are available in three sizes to ensure optimal glenoid contact, while the universal system allows treatment of the entire upper limb. Intraoperative length adjustments can be made in 20mm increments, and customised 3D planning and printing is available for addressing complex glenoid defects, including options with artefact reduction for single-stage revision procedures.
